My own food cravings and struggles with food led me to study Nutrition at U.C Davis. During my training I became sadly aware that nutrition knowledge seldom translated into lasting behavioral change. Telling someone not to eat their favorite food was often fruitless, and frankly, painful for everyone involved. I knew there was more to health than what I was being taught, and a holistic approach was the path to healing. I knew that health concerns needed to be addressed from several angles, including mentally, emotionally and physically.
At the age of twenty-one, I sought out Chinese Medicine which answered that need for me and later for my patients. I was having health problems that were not being helped by western medicine. I found what I needed with Herbs, Acupuncture and Nutrition, and that started my journey into holistic health. I was taking biochemistry, learning meditation and Jin Shin Jyutsu, and getting Acupuncture treatments, all of which would help me for many years to come.
It gives me great pride that I can offer real solutions, something that goes deeper than just knowledge and science, but one that can profoundly improve one’s quality of life. I am pleased that I can help my patients make the changes they desire, be it with food choices or their overall health.
I am a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of California and certified Nationally in Oriental Medicine. I hold Masters degrees in Nutrition Sciences and Chinese Medicine. I have a Bachelors of Science in Dietetics and more than 20 years of experience in the health industry.
