Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Jennifer Walker did her undergraduate training at Pacific Union College in the hills over-looking Napa Valley. She graduated magna cum laude earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with intentions to attend medical school. After graduation, she changed the direction of her life and attended Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California. This change was influenced by her mother’s holistic approach to life and the benefits Dr. Walker experienced from chiropractic care. There she received the degree of Doctor of Chiropractic graduating magma cum laude and valedictorian of her class. She went on to earn her certification in Graston Technique, as well as participating in additional training in Kinesio Taping and nutrition–-all to better the quality of care she provides to her patients.

Dr. Walker provides family health care, which includes men, women in all phases of their lives including pregnancy, and pediatrics. She uses her experience and knowledge to help a wide range of patients—from treating an entire farming village in Morocco to her work with athletes as an onsite doctor at sporting events. Dr. Walker specialized in soft tissue injuries, and working with those suffering from pain and inflammation that affect the normal functioning of the body.

Improving the quality of her patient’s lives is Dr. Walker’s passion. She uses her knowledge and experience in chiropractic care to enable her patients return to pain-free living by helping them to overcome injuries and by ridding their bodies of pain. She works with chiropractic adjustments, soft issue techniques, rehabilitation exercises and nutritional protocols to treat the cause of a patient’s condition, not merely addressing the symptoms.Dr. Walker specializes in three techniques to complement the chiropractic care a patient is receiving: Graston Technique, Kinesio Taping and Activator Method.

Graston Technique is the perfect adjunct to chiropractic care. This simple technique can rid patients of chronic pain from tension headaches, sprained ankles, or pain from repetitive motions such as sitting at a desk for prolonged periods of time.

Dr. Walker’s work with Kinesio Taping is very popular among her patients that are athletes. This technique uses tape to support the muscle and reduce the inflammation from an injury. It is a functional tape that retrains the body’s musculature to do what it is supposed to do. From athletic injuries to reducing belly and back pain in pregnant women, Dr. Walker uses this technique in conjunction with chiropractic adjustments to return her patients to living their lives without pain.

Activator Method is a mechanical adjusting device for soft tissue injuries. Dr. Walker uses this special technique and instrument to find the specific area of the body that needs adjustment and then makes the adjustment without the popping noise and feeling of a typical chiropractic adjustment. For patients that are afraid of chiropractic care and adjustments, this precise technique diminishes their fears with a noiseless technique. This can be extremely helpful when working with children who may already have a fear of the doctor.

Dr. Walker is a member of the California Chiropractic Association. She donates her time to local teen health care as well as speaking to local schools on reproductive education and other health care topics. She also has worked with local schools doing physical exams and on field health care and is committed to total family health for today and the future.
