Prenatal Chiropractic Care
Comfort. Balance. Preparation for Birth.
Pregnancy brings incredible changes to your body–but it can also come with discomfort, tension, or challenges in baby positioning. We offer gentle prenatal chiropractic care with a focus on the Webster Technique, designed to help balance the pelvis, reduce tension, and support both mom and baby during this vital time.
Common Reasons Expecting Patients Visit:
- Low back, hip or pubic bone pain
- Round ligament tension
- Sciatic nerve discomfort
- Pelvic misalignment
- Difficulty sleeping
- Baby in breech position
- General pregnancy discomfort
What Is the Webster Technique?
A Gentle, Pregnancy-Specific Chiropractic Approach
The Webster Technique is a specialized chiropractic method designed specifically for pregnancy. It focuses on aligning the pelvis and releasing tension in key muscles and ligaments–especially the round ligaments, sacrotuberous ligament, and iliopsas–to reduce stress on the uterus and help the baby move more freely.
What Does It Involve?
- Gentle adjustments to the base of the spine
- Soft tissue work to reduce ligament and muscle tension
- No pressure on the abdomen or direct manipulation of the baby
The goal is not to turn the baby, but to create space so they can turn on their own.
Benefits of the Webster
- Relieves back, hip, and pelvic discomfort
- Supports optimal baby positioning
- Encourages a more comfortable pregnancy
Prenatal Chiropractic FAQs
Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?
Yes–when performed by a chiropractor trained in prenatal care, it’s safe for all stages of pregnancy.
Does the Webster Technique turn the baby?
No–it doesn’t turn the baby manually. It creates balance and space in the pelvis, allowing the baby to move naturally.
When should I start chiropractic care?
Anytime during pregnancy is fine, but we recommend starting the second trimester for general care or around 32 weeks for breech support.
Will it hurt?
No. The adjustments are gentle, specific, and tailored for pregnant bodies.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. Many OBs and midwives recommend chiropractic as part of holistic prenatal care.
